Guest Lecture on “Managing Techno Stress and Interpersonal Relationships”
The Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Kattankulathur, organised the Guest Lecture on ‘Managing Techno Stress and Interpersonal Relationships’ for the Second Year MBA Students (BATCH 2023 – 2025) on 18th September 2024. Dr.M.Murugan, Principal, SRMVEC was inaugurated the orientation program. The HOD Prof. Venkat Muramalla convened the orientation programme.
Dr. Kabilan, Hypnotherapist and Personal Growth Trainer was the Chief Guest of this Guest Lecture. He addressed and emphasised to the gathering that ‘Technostress significantly stems from information overload within employee ranks. A continuous influx of notifications, emails, and diverse digital communications obstructs focus and workflow.
From the guest lecture, students were able to understand the need of techno stress in this era of online. It is explained in the guest lecture that how to cope with techno stress and the strategies which is to be implemented.
He insisted that Interpersonal relationships are important for survival as well as cognitive and social development because the attachments formed within them provide security and present the opportunity for learning and socialization.
He also asserted that some of the best strategies for achieving your goals are setting SMART goals, creating an action plan, breaking bad habits, fighting procrastination, growing your time-management skills, and holding yourself accountable.
He contended that Visualization is a simple technique that you can use to create a strong mental image of a future event. With good use of visualization, you can practice in advance for the event, so that you can prepare properly for it. And by visualizing success, you can build the self-confidence you need to perform well.
Finally, he concluded his guest lecture with hearty congratulations and to the students and thanks to the Department of Management Studies, SRMVEC. The guest lecture on Managing Techno Stress and Interpersonal Relationships II MBA student on dealing with technostress, students must limit their technological related stress , take short breaks throughout the day and disconnect from technology after work hours. The essence of success lies in a combination of resilience, self-belief, and innovation. Successful individuals stand out by embracing risks, holding unwavering confidence in their abilities, and continually thinking outside the conventional norms. Finally, with the vote of thanks and National Anthem, the guest lecture was successfully ended up.
