PRESS NOTE ON WORKSHOP IN THE TITLED "ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE AGE OF AI: OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES"
Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College (Autonomous), Kattankulathur in association with ED CELL – SRMVEC, Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Industry Institution Partnership Cell (IIPC) organized a WORKSHOP IN THE TITLED "ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE AGE OF AI: OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES" on 24th FEBRUARY 2026. The essence of the event focused to help students understand the expectations of the Entrepreneurship Development and the competencies required for successful Entrepreneurial Skills.
Dr. D. MOHANRAJ, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Sel.G), DOMS, SRMVEC AND Mr.P. SRINIVASAN, ASISTANT PROFESSOR, DOMS, SRMVEC were the key speakers of the Workshop.
Dr. Venkata Sai Srinivasa Rao Muramalla, Professor & Head of the Department, Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College (Autonomous) was the convener of the event and welcomed the Dignitaries, Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the participants. He rendered thanks to the Management, Director and Principal for their support and motivation in organizing the event.
The primary objective of the workshop was to create awareness among students about the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in entrepreneurship and to help them understand the competencies required to succeed in technology-driven business environments. The programme focused on equipping participants with knowledge about emerging entrepreneurial opportunities, innovation practices, and challenges associated with AI adoption in modern enterprises.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Dinesh Kanna K.V., Co-Founder of Strat School and Nibulla, Chennai, delivered an insightful keynote address highlighting the growing significance of AI in shaping entrepreneurial ecosystems. He shared practical industry experiences and emphasized the importance of creativity, adaptability, and continuous skill development for aspiring entrepreneurs. He encouraged students to leverage AI technologies responsibly to build sustainable and scalable business ventures.
The technical sessions were handled by the Key Speakers, Dr. D. Mohanraj, Assistant Professor (Sel.G), Department of Management Studies, and Mr. P. Srinivasan, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, SRMVEC. The speakers discussed the integration of AI in business models, startup opportunities in AI-enabled sectors, data-driven decision-making, and the ethical and operational challenges faced by entrepreneurs in adopting advanced technologies. The sessions also highlighted essential entrepreneurial competencies such as innovation mindset, problem-solving ability, digital literacy, and strategic thinking.
The workshop included interactive discussions where students actively participated by sharing ideas and clarifying doubts related to startup creation, AI applications, and future career opportunities. The programme successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by providing practical insights into AI-driven entrepreneurship.
