REPORT ON GUEST LECTURE – REGISTRATION ANFD PATENT FILING
Department of Management Studies organised a Guest Lecture on “Startups – Registration and Patent Filing Procedures ‘Grooming Professional Outlook and Communication’ was successfully conducted by Dr I. Sreelatha , Associate Professor & Registered Patent agent from the School of Law at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, serving as the esteemed resource person. The session commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr M. Venkata Sai Srinivasa Rao, Head of the Department, who expressed gratitude to Dr Sreelatha for graciously sharing her expertise and insights with the audience. Dr M. Venkata Sai Srinivasa Rao emphasized the importance of understanding the intricacies of startup registration and patent filing procedures in today’s dynamic entrepreneurial landscape. He underscored the significance of intellectual property protection as a cornerstone for fostering innovation and driving economic growth. Dr Sreelatha then proceeded to deliver an enlightening and informative lecture, guiding attendees through the essential steps involved in establishing a startup and navigating th patent filing process. She adeptly elucidated the legal frameworks, documentation requirements and strategic considerations essential for aspiring entrepreneurs. Participants actively engaged with Dr Sreelatha , posing insightful questions and seeking clarifications on various aspects of startup registration and patent filing. Students’ inquiries ranged from the intricacies of patent application documentation to the nuances of trademark registration. Dr Sreelatha provided detailed explanations, drawing from her extensive knowledge and practical experience as a registered patent agent. Her responses were not only informative but also tailored to the level of understanding of the audience , ensuring that complex legal concepts were conveyed in a digestable manner.
The session conclude with expressions of appreciation from the audience, who expresses gratitude for valuable insights gained. Overall the guest lecture session proved to be a sesounding success, equipping attendees with practical knowledge and actionable insights to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys with confidence and clarity.
It was a really splendid presentation which exposed all participants to the field practices. All the MBA department faculty members of SRM Valliammai Engineering College and students got benefited fro views on the subject.
