The students were accompanied by Mr.K.Suresh, Assistant Professor - MBA and, Dr.L.Sujatha, Assistant Professor - MBA, visited the Aavin - Madhavaram DairyandWe reached the spot around 11:00AM, the plant’s Admin staff welcomed us with his open arms. He took us around the unit and explained us each and every step in the production process of Milk. The factory outlay was perfectly cleaned, organized and both the pathways had boards stating their layout blueprint. This industry hold space for plants which adds, quality to their environment and to its aesthetic look as well.

Aavin is a State Government Cooperative under the ownership of Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited (TNCMPFL), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of Tamil Nadu and the trademark of TNCMPFL. Aavin procures milk, processes it and sells milk and milk products to consumers. The company uses advanced manufacturing processes to ensure the efficacy and purity of its  Milk production. Quality control measures are implemented at every stage of production to deliver products that meet customer expectations. Additionally, efforts are made to minimize packaging waste and promote eco-friendly practices.

Then the admin staff took us inside the production area and explained us step by step process of milk productions. The milk processing section in processing plants contains all operations of milk like collecting milk from farmers, storing milk in tanks at below 4°Cthen separating, pasteurizing and homogenizing for making good quality milk products by using milk processing equipment.High-Temperature Short-Time method, where the milk is heated to 71.6°C for only 15 seconds (i.e) Pasteurization makes milk safe for human consumption by destroying pathogenic germs (pathogens) Pasteurization in dairy plants is done to make the product safe for use and to extend product shelf life.Madhavaram plant produces 4 varieties of Milk such as toned milk, double toned milk, standardisedmilk and full cream milk with different fat and SNFcontent. There are 19 different quality checks before transportation of milk packets. After packaging the milk packets are stored below 5°C in cold rooms and then distributed to consumers. Aavinoperates on a cooperative model, empowering local milk producers through an extensive network of dairy cooperatives across the state. One of Aavin's key strengths lies in its robust procurement system. It sources milk directly from farmers, offering fair prices and ensuring a steady income for countless rural households. This approach not only supports farmers but also maintains the quality of milk supplied to consumers. By integrating modern technology with traditional practices, it has revolutionized the dairy sector.

Once we gathered information about the production of milk Again we came out through the exit door where we were served with ice cream and snacks. Then management staff addressed the students regarding their experience with the industrial visit and the explanations given by the staff. He also asked and clarified our doubts. By thanking the officials in the industry for the opportunity the students returned back to college.
