REPORT ON BAZAAR ACTIVITY

Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College in association with Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Industry Institution Partnership Cell (IIPC), under the initiative of Entrepreneurship Development Cell organised an event Bounty Bazaar'24 on 12th and 13th March'24. The essence of the event  focused on inculcation of entrepreneurial ideas and  improvisation of entrepreneurial skills among MBA  students.   

 

  Dr. K. Sentamilselvan, Associate Professor & convener of the event welcomed the Dignitaries, Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the participants. He rendered thanks to the Management, Director and Principal for their support and motivation in organizing the event. Mrs.A.UmaDevi, Assistant Professor & coordinator of the event briefed about the bazaar activity.  This event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their business ideas and products, as well as to learn from established entrepreneurs. There was a total of 15 stalls, which was formed by students themselves and they came up with new ideas and innovative thinking for attaining profit and came up with attractive things to attract customers.

 GUEST TALK:

The event was inaugurated by two chief guests, first Mr. Shree Raam, a renowned Indian film actor, an entrepreneur, CEO of Aatrel Green Renewable Energy private limited. Mr. Shree Raam a student from IIT who spoke about Atal energy generation. The talk provided valuable information on sustainable energy solutions and sparked a discussion among the students on the importance of renewable energy in today's world. During his speech, Mr. Shree Raam shared his experiences, hurdles, and failures in the entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges. His candid insights inspired students to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and to stay determined in pursuing their goals. His inspiring speech motivated the students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

 

 Secondly Mr.Jayaram, Startup Ecosystem Enabler,MAHER, shared valuable insights on fostering creativity among students. His perspective on the importance of activities like the bounty bazaar in enhancing creativity is truly enlightening.

 

 The fact that such initiatives are being introduced by the department indicated a shift towards innovative and experiential learning approach, which is a positive development for upcoming future of students.

Mr.Maxwell Richard, Project Manager(SAP), VSIRI Innovative Labs Pvt Ltd., Mysore, Karnataka who is also our alumni had addressed our students on the second day of bazaar. He has shared his experiences and wisdom with current students, guiding them on the path to success. This exchange of ideas and knowledge not only enriches the learning environment but also inspires students to explore new avenues and think outside the box.

 

THE EVENT:

Throughout two days, students set up stalls to display their products and services, ranging from handmade crafts to innovative foods, clothing, beverages, etc... The bazaar provided a vibrant atmosphere for networking and collaboration, with students exchanging ideas and feedback on each other's projects.

During the bazaar event, several activities were held to encourage innovative thinking among the students. Some of the key activities included:

1.     Idea Pitching Sessions: Students had the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges and receive feedback on how to further develop and refine their concepts.

2.     Innovation Challenges: Students were given specific challenges to solve within a limited time frame, encouraging them to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions.

3.     Networking Opportunities: The bazaar provided a platform for students to network with faculty members, professionals, entrepreneurs, and fellow students, fostering collaboration and idea exchange.

4.     Hands on experience: This Bazaar had given the students  hands on experience about the business environment, competitions, customer experience and their satisfaction level had also been collected with a feedback notes.

The entire event was organized and coordinated by Mrs.A.UmaDevi, Assistant Professor, and co-coordinated by Dr.J.Anand, Assistant Professor. The event was convened by Dr.K.Sentamilselvan, Associate Professor. All the faculty members and non teaching staff have taken active roles for the well conduct of event on these two days.The commitment and hard work put in by everyone involved, from promotional activities to the vote of thanks, demonstrate a shared goal of nurturing students ideas and creativity. It's commendable that everyone played their part in motivating students and contributing to the overall success of the bazaar.

It's fantastic to hear that all 15 stalls at the bazaar brought their unique flair and creativity to the event, making the selling activity enjoyable for the students. The fact that each stall had its own distinctive approach likely added to the overall excitement and diversity of offerings at the bazaar.

 

WINNERS AND RUNNERS:

Congratulations to Elite Biryani, stall number 15, for being crowned the winner of the bounty bazaar!  And there are two runner ups - stall no.7 and stall no.6. The evaluation process conducted by all Judges, based on feedback for each shop, highlights the fair and inclusive selection process that considers the input and experiences of everyone involved.

This recognition not only celebrates the efforts and success of Elite Biryani but also acknowledges the hard work and dedication of all participants in making the bazaar a memorable and engaging event. It's clear that the collaborative spirit and enthusiasm of everyone involved contributed to the overall success of the bazaar. All the participants did really by showing their creativity, innovation, and teamwork!

The students showed great enthusiasm and cooperation in organising and participating in the bazaar activities, demonstrating their commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship on campus. Their active involvement contributed to the success of the event and created a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere conducive to creative thinking and collaboration.

CONCLUSION:

Overall, the bazaar was a great success in promoting entrepreneurship among MBA students. It provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience in running a business and inspired them to explore new opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship. The event was well-received by both students and faculty, and everyone look forward in organizing similar events in the future.
