INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO HASTUN AGRO PRODUCT PRIVATE LIMITED, KANCHIPURAM PLANT.
On April 22nd 2025, the Department of Management Studies at SRM Valliammai Engineering College at SRM Nagar Kattankulathur organised an industrial visit to HASTUN AGRO PRODUCT PRIVATE LIMITED - Kanchipuram plant was visited by the I MBA – Section - 2 students (total 56) to acquire practical experience with the production process and managerial duties and other operational activities involved in the Arun, Arokya, Hatsun, Ibaco, Hap daily, (Hanobar, Havia (chocolates)), Santosa, Manufacturing plant.
The students were accompanied by Mr. P. srinivasan and Ms. G.Sathya and visited the Hatsun Agro Product ltd. We reached the spot around 10:00AM, the plant’s Admin staff welcomed us with open arms. As we visited the Hatsun Agro product ltd. They provided us with the safety sanitary kits like Head cap, Face mask, etc.
First, we looked up the plant layout which was placed at the entrance and the employee who accompanied us gave the details about the plant. They took us around the unit and explained us each and every step in the production process of Milk, curd, Ice Cream, etc. The factory outlay was perfectly organized and both the pathways had boards stating their layout blueprint.
ABOUT COMPANY INSIGHTS GAINED BY STUDENTS:
The Employee who accompanied gave us clear details about the Plant's process and function. Hatsun Agro Product Limited are the major products of Milk such as their
Arun, Arokya, Hatsun, Ibaco, Hap, Aniva, Hanobar, Havia, their confectioneries such as Milk, Curd, Ice Cream, etc.
Founded and established in 1970 in Kanchipuram, India, by Mr R.G. Chandramogan and headquartered in Tamil Nadu, Chennai.
· Product Range: Offers a wide array of edible food products, including Milk, Curd, Ice cream, Butter, gee, etc and industrial segments.
· Manufacturing Capacity: Possesses a substantial manufacturing and storage capacity of 400,000 letrs.
· Infrastructure: Operates through 8+ manufacturing plants and an extensive distribution network spanning 3+ states and other parts of the country.
· Workforce: Employs over 2,000+ skilled staff members.
· Sustainability Focus: Embraces sustainability in global operations, supply chain, and community initiatives.
· Leadership: Currently managed by R. G. Chandramogan, succeeding the founder, India’s largest Hatusn company.
VISIT TO PRODUCTION UNIT:
· Had a visit at Production area where the Milk production manager gave a detailed information regarding the step-by-step process of preparing Milk Packet and curd, system that had been followed in their plant. The Milk taken to the lab which is located at their plant for quality check. After the quality check if the Milk standards they are processed for packing and visited the Primary and secondary packing Area.
· This area had many packing lines and we had a look at different Milk, Curd, their confectioneries such as Ice creams, Gee, butter, and are packed through respective pipelines.
· Had a look at the Milk, and Curd packets and Ice Cream manufacturing area where they manufacture their own packaging packets to reduce cost rather than outsourcing it.

To conclude, the opportunity to visit this industry has provided us with a lot of insights in regard to the production activities and other managerial sides. We thank the Dr.ChidhanbaraRajan, Director, Dr.M Murugan, Principal and Dr.M.Venkata Sai Srinivasa Rao, HOD, Department of Management Studies. Industrial visit coordinators are Dr. Anand J and Mr. Haridharan K.N, other faculty members and College management for providing us this opportunity to acquire a bright exposure in live production and markets. Once again, we feel glad to the opportunity given.
