The oil after refining process taken to the lab which is located at their plant for quality check. After the quality check if the oil meet the standards they are processed for packing and visited the Primary and secondary packing Area of the refined oil.

·       This area had many packing lines and we had a look at different oils like Sunland sunflower oil, Roobini oil and Tamilnadu government palmolein oil packing... The overhead tank at the factory had different oil in each tank and these oils are packed through respective pipelines.

·       Had a look at the oil tins and bottles manufacturing area where they manufacture their own packaging tin to reduce cost rather than outsourcing it.

INTERACTIVE SESSION:

After the visit to the different areas of the plant we had an interactive session with the Management team members. The General Manager and The Management team clarified the doubts.

The doubts asked by the students:

·       What will they do with the wastage?

The wastage that is the fat content removed from the oil had been supplied to the baking companies and other soap manufacturing companies for the utilisation of fat.

·       Is the refining process alone had been taking place in the plant?

They told they import the oil in the crude form from other countries like Ukraine, Malaysia etc... From the harbour the oil had been taken to the plant and they refined the oil to the edible form and the end product reach the customers.

·       They presented the Video clippings of their plant and gave a detailed insights regarding how the company had been started and developed.

To conclude, the opportunity to visit this industry has provided us with a lot of insights in regard to the production activities and other managerial sides. We thank Director, Principal and Vice Principal, Dr.M. Venkata Sai Srinivasa Rao - HOD, Department of Management Studies, Industrial visit coordinator - Dr.Anand .
