 ‘Women Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Program’ from 6.3.2023 – 8.3.2023.

SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Dept. of Management Studies in association with Entrepreneurship Development Cell and ICC / Vishaka Committee organised a Three Day ‘Women Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Program’ from 6.3.2023 – 8.3.2023. Dr. Krishna Radhakrishnan, Founder – President, Women Entrepreneurs Welfare Association of Tamilnadu (WEWA Trust), Chennai inaugurated the session, also present were the Head of Departments, Faculty members and Women Entrepreneurs and students participants from various institutions.

The program was organised under the patronage of the Management and guidance of Dr. S. Ramachandran, Director – Academics, SRM Group, Dr. B. Chidambararajan, Director, SRMVEC, Dr. M. Murugan, Principal, SRMVEC and Dr. H. Krishnan, Vice Principal, SRMVEC.

As a part of the program, a MoU was signed by the Department of Management Studies with WEWA Trust. Dr. K. Sentamilselvan, Associate Professor & Head and Dr. Krishna Radhakrishnan, WEWA signed the MOU marking cooperation to work in the areas of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development.

      On the second day of the program Mrs. Kalaivani Rajesh, Founder – Aran, Chennai addressed the participants on the title ‘Beyond Financial Freedom’. During the lecture Mrs. Kalaivani Rajesh emphasized on the importance of financial independence among women and the role of entrepreneurship in providing them financial independence in today’s scenario. The session was followed a lecture by Mrs. P. Divya, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Agricultural Engineering, SRMVEC on the title ‘ Women Entrepreneurs as Leaders’.

During the third day of the program Mrs. Sushma Anand, Founder, Ampersand Communications, Chennai delivered a lecture on the title ‘Upskilling Women Entrepreneurship’ emphasized on the need for skill-based training for Women Entrepreneurs followed by a lecture by Ms. K. Tharini, Asst. professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, SRMVEC. The 3-day program was concluded with a small celebration marking the International Women’s Day on 08.03.2023.

 Totally 94 participants attended the 3 days events successfully. The event coordinator are Mrs. UmaDevi.A, Dr.Anand.J, Dr.V.Selvalakshmi has magnificently conducted the 3 days event.
