MBA ORIENTATION PROGRAM – (OP- 21)
The Department of Management Studies of SRM Valliammai Engineering, Kattankulathur, organised the Orientation Programme (OP 21) for the First Year MBA Students on 21st August 2025 at 1.00Pm to 4.00Pm in New Seminar, SRMVEC. Greeting and welcoming the new students on the first day of college is more than just a friendly gesture and it is the perfect way to build a positive culture where students are engaged, focused, and friendly. The goals of the orientation programs are to create student's familiarity with the institution's regulations and academic schedules, and to acquaint with their peer groups and to experience the new sphere of learning.
On this occasion, Dr.M.Murugan, Principal, SRMVEC was inaugurated the orientation program. The HOD of the Department, Prof. Venkat Muramalla convened the orientation programme.
Dr. S. SRINIVASA RAGHAVAN, Director, Delivery and Operations, Infosys Ltd, Chennai was the Chief Guest of this program. She delivered the motivational talk and addressed the gathering on the importance of Time Management and she expressed that it is the key strategy to complete the task with more perfection.
He commented that self-discipline is the power to manage a person's thoughts, emotions, or behaviour in the face of temptation to achieve a specific goal. From this self-discipline, it is easy to see how discipline is often referred as self-control, willpower, restraint, persistence, and determination. He insisted on to decide what you want, and then act as if it were impossible to fail. He opined that if somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then anyone can learn how to do it later. Also, if opportunity doesn't knock, build a door, she expressed.
To motivate students towards achieving their goals, she quoted that ‘victory comes from finding opportunities in problems’. Therefore, he suggested the students on building trust takes long- years or sometimes decades, but it takes a second to lose it. In his words, regaining trust takes even longer. But trust is the glue of life. He extended her suggestion that students should not get emotional over anything, because emotions create your thoughts. But anger and arrogance are self-destructive.
Finally, he concluded, don't take anything personal. Because, everything should be planned a few steps ahead. So, have a few contingencies up your sleeve.
Finally, he congratulated the I MBA students and wish them for the bright endeavours. The orientation programme held among I MBA students on making the cordial relationship with positive vibe the campus. With the National Anthem, orientation programme was successfully ended up
