REPORT OF THE 5 DAYS FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN THE TOPIC OF “INNOVATIVE TEACHING STRATEGIES IN DIGITAL AGE”
Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College (Autonomous), Kattankulathur in association with Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Industry Institution Partnership Cell (IIPC) organized 5 Days Faculty Development Program in the topic of “Innovative Teaching Strategies in Digital Age” on 02.06.2025 to 06.06.2025. The essence of the event focused on initiating the innovative teaching strategies in the digital age among Faculty Members, Research Scholars and corporates students and the strategies to implement such valuable goals.
Dr. P.Shobha Rani, Professor, Department of AI & DS, R.M.D Engineering College was the Chief guest of the FDP.
Dr. Venkata Sai Srinivasa Rao Muramalla, Professor & Head of the Department, Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College (Autonomous) was the convener of the event and welcomed the Dignitaries, Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the participants. He rendered thanks to the Management, Director and Principal for their support and motivation in organizing the event. Dr. K. Sentamil Selvan, Dr. L. Sujatha, and Mr. Thanga Balaji Amuthan was the coordinators of the FDP Program. This FDP aimed to provide a platform for Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Corporate to showcase their interest towards the Innovative Teaching Strategies in the Digital Age.
THE EVENT:
In the days of the FDP, Participants were more interested to learn the concepts of innovative teaching strategies in the digital age. The FDP provided a vibrant atmosphere for networking and collaboration, with Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Corporate Professionals.
During the FDP, several activities were held to encourage innovative thinking and strategies to deal with the student engagement and impressive methods to increase student’s study interest.
Some of the key activities included:
1. Idea Pitching Sessions: Participants had the opportunity to pitch their concepts on Innovative Teaching Strategies.
2. Innovation Challenges: Faculty Members were given specific challenges to solve within a limited time frame, encouraging them to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions.
3. Networking Opportunities: The FDP provided a platform for Research Scholars to get knowledge on Research analysis and Innovative Research Activities.
4. Hands on experience: This FDP had given the Corporate Professionals hands on experience about the importance of Innovative Market Research Insights and its effective strategies to implement in their both professional and personal lives.

At the end of this faculty development program, participants will be able to explain:

The FDP program on “Innovative Teaching Strategies in Digital Age” was organized from 02/06/2025 to 06/06/2025 with the objective of enhancing the efficiency of Faculty Members in content delivery in both the online and personalized teaching and evaluation.
Day 1
02.06.2025 - Forenoon Session
The Sessions were handled by Dr. P.Shobha Rani, Professor, Department of AI & DS, R.M.D Engineering College. She is the recipient of prestigious awards and innovative teaching strategies. She explained more about “Innovative Teaching Strategies in Digital Age”. She also shared her valuable academic experience to all the participants and taught the innovative teaching skills. The Professor also taught the participants about the class engagement.

02.06.2025 – Afternoon Session
The Resource person for the afternoon session was Dr.K.D. Balaji. He is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur and has been actively involved in organizing activities for improving the teaching-learning process in the higher education sector. He has given more AI tools for the class engagement and teaching strategies.
Day 2 – Forenoon Session

The forenoon session of was taken by Dr.E.P. John, Assistant Professor (Sr. G), Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Kattankuluthur. The Forenoon session of the second day of the FDP explained about “How Teachers Can Make a Difference”. The session began his session by introducing the various topics she deals with in the session to the participants. He mentioned that he will be dealing with types of assessments and design of assessment plan.
Day 2 - Afternoon Session

The Afternoon session of the Second day of the FDP explained about the “Student’s Engagement Strategies for India’s Today Classrooms” by Dr. Meena Kumari, Assistant Professor (Sr. Grade), Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Kattankuluthur. She began her session by summing up of the previous day’s topics so as to assess the learning of the participants. She explained equip faculty with innovative, inclusive, and contextually relevant strategies to enhance student engagement in Indian classrooms. focus groups, minute card and teacher reflection, the types of assessments in detail and also the need for teacher assessment and the necessary question that may help to ensure flawless feedback from students.

The third day of the FDP was the Industrial Visit to TIDC (Tool and Industrial Development Centre (TIDC), Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. All the participants are attended the industrial visit and learned the following points:
Objectives of the Industrial Visit:
· To understand the real-time applications of tool manufacturing and CNC machining.
· To observe industry-grade equipment and industrial practices in action.
· To learn about the facilities provided to MSMEs and entrepreneurs for prototyping and manufacturing support.
· To expose students to current technologies in precision engineering, die and mold making, CAD/CAM design, and automation.

The forenoon session of was taken by Dr.S.Srinivasan, Professor of Practice, Department of AI & DS, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Kattankuluthur. The Forenoon session of the second day of the FDP explained about “Understanding the technologies for attaining the SDGs in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)”. The session began his session by introducing the various topics she deals with in the session to the participants. He mentioned that he will be dealing with types of assessments and design of assessment plan. He also shared his valuable experience to all the participants.

The forenoon session of was taken by Dr.A.Veluchamy, Professor of Practice, Department of Management Studies, SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Kattankuluthur. The Afternoon session of the second day of the FDP explained about “Histories of the 21st Century”. The session began his session by introducing the innovative strategies and various topics she deals with in the session to the participants. explained about “AI Tools in Teaching and Research”. The session began his session by
introducing the innovative strategies and various topics she deals with in the
session to the participants. He mentioned that he will be dealing with types of

experience to all the participants and given the creative ideas.

The Afternoon session of the second day of the FDP explained about “Innovative strategies in Students Engagement and Classroom Management”. The session began his session by introducing the innovative strategies and various topics she deals with in the session to the participants. He mentioned that he will be dealing with types of assessments and design of assessment plan. He also shared his valuable experience to all the participants and given the creative ideas.
Conclusion:
The Faculty Development Programme on Innovative Teaching Strategies in the Digital Age has provided valuable insights into the evolving landscape of education. As digital tools and technologies reshape the teaching-learning process, it is imperative for educators to adapt and innovate. This programme has equipped participants with practical strategies, such as blended learning, flipped classrooms, gamification, and the effective use of AI-driven platforms, to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. By embracing these modern approaches, educators can move beyond traditional pedagogies to create more interactive, inclusive, and personalized learning environments. The FDP has not only expanded technical proficiency but also encouraged a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation.
